Primary topic for "chips"
[edit]Whilst this dab page seems sensible for the word "chip", surely the primary meaning of the plural "chips" is the food? Yes I accept the US call them french fries (arguably not quite the same anyway), but "chips" are so overwhelming used to refer to the vegetable, as in the quintessential British dish of "fish and chips", that there must be a good case for redirecting "chips" to "french fries" at least until a separate chips article is produced. - In the U.S., the food "chips" would clearly and unambiguously refer to potato chips (a.k.a. crisps). Redirecting chips to french fries would cause a fair amount of confusion. - SummerPhD (talk) 18:18, 25 November 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Considering CHIP generally comes from an acronym, it's rather confusing to go to this page. Also, CHiPs really doesn't belong here as well. They should be in the "See Also" section. Should a new discussion be opened up? –MJL ‐Talk‐☖ 18:21, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
