I have added some information to clarify the relationship between the Chichibu Distillery and the other distilleries involved. Until 2004, Ichiro Akuto managed Toa Shuzo, which owned the Hanyu Distillery, and he later founded Venture Whisky in order to market the remaining stock from Hanyu after the company was sold. He subsequently established the Chichibu Distillery. Since whiskies sold under the Ichiro’s Malt brand are created by combining whisky from multiple distilleries, separating this information across different articles would scatter the context and make it very difficult for readers to understand the overall picture.
In addition, whisky enthusiasts generally consider the Chichibu Distillery, the Chichibu Daini Distillery, the remaining stock whisky from the Hanyu Distillery at the time of the Toa Shuzo sale, Ichiro’s Malt, Ichiro Akuto, and Venture Whisky to be part of the same business narrative. For that reason, consolidating the relevant information on this page seems appropriate. Strictly speaking, it might be reasonable to rename the article to “Venture Whisky,” but because the distillery is better known than the company name, I have kept the current title.
