The name 'Charmutha'

[edit]

Charmutha or Charmuthas was likely located in Yanbu, in the famous peninsula there. It is evident that the name consists of the Arabic word for small peninsulas (شرم) 'sharm' in the beginning, while the second word is unknown. However, I've done some research and found out the peninsula in Yanbu is also referred to as "شرم رضوى" "خليج رضوى" 'sharm ridhwa\rizwa', bearing a similar name to a nearby mountain in Yanbu (جبل رضوى). Is it possible (رضوى) is the second word? Omar Hall (talk) 13:43, 19 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
