Toxicity and chaerophyllin

[edit]

I want to question the molecular causes of this plant's toxicity, as the alkaloid mentionned, chaerophyllin, seems to refer to nothing consistent in the scientific literature. Rather, Stamenkovic et al, 2015 found no such compound by hydrodistillation in C. temulum, nor in C. bulbosum. However, a lignan bears the name "kaerophyllin" and was purified from another species of the same genus : C. maculatum. But there is no known toxicity of it.

Thank you in advance for your answers !

Greetings,
