Current status of the article

[edit]

The new additions to the article, while well-researched, appear to be counter-productive to some extent, as the article currently reads as two long lists of works accepting or not accepting Ceriantipatharia. While these works are helpful to have, it could be better to rely on sources focused on anthozoan phylogeny (favoring secondary sources like meta-analyses and systematic reviews if possible) to summarize the debate in an encyclopedic way, instead of listing every individual mention/lack thereof and artificially dividing the discussion in two. Pinging @Temporatemporus and @UtherSRG for feedback – would you two be okay with reverting to the earlier version for now, and splitting the proposed addition into a temporary draft so that it can be condensed and rewritten in an encyclopedic way before being added back? Indeed, as I find the current version unhelpful. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:40, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
That said, the same should be done with the other articles Temp has changed. - UtherSRG (talk) 15:07, 19 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
  • Whilst seeing the expanded version as far from ideal or complete, it's pretty harsh to say that it's counter-productive. It is, if anything, something too primary and lacking in secondary analysis. But is that really worse than the vacuum there beforehand? Reverting the lot repeatedly with no more comment than "Rv - last best" is certainly unacceptable behaviour. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:58, 21 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
