Offices

I removed the following addition, and first edit, by IP editor as uncited, as well as overly-detailed and possibly inaccurate and/or ambiguous: In June 1989 Carnival was located in Doral Florida with corporate offices in the Kogar center. With so much growth underway it was imperative that larger facilities were acquired. Coincidentally, Mellon Bank charged L.J. Hooker International with the disposition of the former John Alden Life building;located directly down the street from the Kogar Center. Robert Rodriguez (VP of L.J. Hooker International) walked in the front door and set in motion the sale of Carnivals now Doral Corporate offices along with the acquisition of adjacent land owned by the Ryder Company.

According to the Carnival Corp & plc (CCP) 2023 Annual Report their corporate HQ remains in Miami, though there are operational offices in Doral; it may well be that the head office of Carnival Cruises is also in Doral, but needs clarification. @Davidships: A lot of areas/communities in Miami-Dade County are given "Miami, FL" post office addresses by the U.S. Postal Service, but are not actually in Miami. The Carnival Doral office is given the postal address: "3655 NW 87th Avenue. Miami, FL. 33178 U.S.A." but it's very much not in the City of Miami. Put it in a map, and it's in Doral (and there are secondary sources saying it's in Doral). I am aware there are "registered offices" belonging to companies in Commonwealth countries (which may not be where the company offices are), but I am not aware of such that Carnival Corp. has.

To my knowledge there is no Carnival Cruise Line or Carnival Corp. office space in the city limits of Miami. (yes, the cruise terminal is in Miami, but AFAIK no offices!)

• The Annual report states on page 41 (PDF p. 45) that the company has "463/18" SQFT of properties in "Miami, FL, U.S.A." but AFAIK that's just a combo of the Doral office and or the cruise terminal in Miami?
• The same report says on page 128 (PDF p. 132/409): "Certain specific audit procedures were also performed at the Group’s head office in Miami, Florida [...]" but as far as I know they're just basing the Miami description on what the postal address says.
• Page 180 (PDF p. 184/409) says "Corporate Headquarters Carnival Corporation & plc Carnival Place 3655 N.W. 87th Avenue Miami, Florida 33178-2428 U.S.A." - This is the address that is given a "Miami, FL" postal city name by the USPS, but is actually in the City of Doral. Yes, the Mayor of Doral wasn't happy when she learned Carnival will move in 2028.
• So on PDF p. 187/409 they say "With our global corporate headquarters in Miami" but I know from the full address location and the mayor's comments that, no, it's not in Miami.

I found Carnival, in another document, wrote its address as: "3655 NW 87th Ave. Doral, FL. 33178". It's the same place. Whether one puts down the address city name as "Doral" or "Miami" the USPS will deliver mail to the same place, and Google Maps/Mapquest/Apple Maps/etc will take you to the same place. The ZIP code, street name, and street number are the same.

This article from the Miami Herald talks about how the Doral mayor is upset that Carnival is leaving.

Carnival Freedom

Please add a section stating what happened on the 2024 funnel for. EX: "On March 23, 2024, Carnival Freedom was sailing through severe weather when passengers reported an extremely loud thunder clap and lightning. Shortly after, a fire was reported in the port side exhaust. This led to the next two cruises being cancelled for repairs to be carried out. Location of headquarters

The address says "3655 NW 87th Avenue, Miami, FL 33178-2418" - Despite the fact the postal address says "Miami" for the "city", the office is physically in the City of Doral (map seen at: https://www.cityofdoral.com:443/files/assets/city/v/1/departments/planning-and-zoning/land-use-docs/comprehensive-plan-future-land-use-map.pdf ) - Note the City of Houston states here https://web.archive.org/web/19961031170034/http://www.ci.houston.tx.us/annexation/annexation_FAQ.html that: "The U.S. Postal Service establishes ZIP codes and mailing addresses in order to maximize the efficiency of their system, not to recognize jurisdictional boundaries."

Also note this article from the Miami Herald outright says the HQ is in Doral, quoting Mayor of Doral Christi Fraga.

This page says the HQ is in Doral, but it does say that the company was selling it and plans to move somewhere else. This says the same thing, with the new address being: "703 Waterford Way, Miami, FL 33126" (this is scheduled to happen in 2028)

"703 Waterford Way, Miami, FL 33126" is actually in an unincorporated area in Miami-Dade County, not in the City of Miami (it is just across from the Miami city limits). See this map, pages 42-43/154 .

When the company indicates the address is changed, the new HQ should be indicated as in "Miami-Dade County" (no city, as an unincorporated area is not in any city). This would be the case unless somehow the City of Miami annexes the Waterford Way development (I don't know how easily the city government can do this under Florida law).

It's relevance due to the need to collect basic information about a company! Wikidata has the field "headquarters location": P159. A company headquarters location is basic information that one has to know about a company or organization. I need to put something there, and I want to be precise with my information. Wikidata has another field "located in the administrative territorial entity" (P131) which asks for detail. I'm not going to say something is "located in the administrative territorial entity" when it is not. The U.S. Postal Service does not in fact record whether something is "located in the administrative territorial entity", and it intentionally does not do this. This leads to confusion when editors (especially those not from the US) are trying to figure this out.

Every single article about an organization or company should have the information on the organization/company's headquarters. This is basic, expected information.

As stated above, the postal address is actually not adequate at all, but misleading. The postal address says "Miami, FL", but it's the Doral Mayor, not the Miami Mayor, who is upset that Carnival is leaving her city!:

• "“We don’t want to see them go,” Doral Mayor Christi Fraga said. “Our city is nostalgic for them.”"

It is Doral, not Miami, that's losing the tax money.

Taking the Carnival documents using "Miami" at face value would make one think there is some other office, but I looked at the whole address (street name, street number, and ZIP code) in the documents and found that there is no other office in Miami. The company's "Miami" headquarters is in fact the Doral facility.

You can technically use WP:OR on talk pages to evaluate information ("This policy does not apply to talk pages and other pages which evaluate article content and sources,[...]"), but I have a secondary source that flat out says the current headquarters is in Doral anyway. Carnival Destiny
