Nomination for deletion

[edit]

Lack of Significant, Independent Coverage

[edit]
  • Nearly all references are one‑off, surface‑level human‑interest pieces rather than in‑depth profiles or critical analysis of lasting impact.
  • **Washington Post (2015)** and **TIME (2000)** each ran a brief feature focusing on his “Jesus‑like” persona, not on any demonstrable contribution or influence in theology, social movements, or scholarship.
  • The remaining sources are local newspapers (Toledo Blade; Times Leader; Hazleton Standard‑Speaker; Pasco Times) or niche sites (The Pillar) that do not establish broader significance beyond occasional events or novelty.
  • **IMDb** and a single YouTube news clip do not count as independent, reliable secondary sources.

Absence of Sustained Notability

[edit]
  • No evidence of peer‑reviewed or academic interest, major book coverage, or recurring national‑level attention over time.
  • Coverage is episodic (deportation in 1999; Pope Francis visit in 2015; documentary in 2007) with no indication of ongoing cultural or scholarly relevance.

Given this, “Carl James Joseph” does not satisfy Wikipedia’s notability criteria for a standalone biography. I therefore propose deletion WereWolf (talk) 13:02, 20 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

A few things:
  • This is not the proper way to start a deletion discussion.
  • Your edit summary "I’ve gone out and done the same thing he has where is my article" is not very professional.
  • He clearly meets WP:GNG and WP:BASIC with sustained, significant coverage in multiple reliable sources over many years.
  • The article is on the front page right now and so this will be speedy-closed.
