I have never heard this bird utter the calls attributed to it by Sinclair's book. The only sound I have heard Cape Batis make could be described as a hoarse gskkk-gsssk-gsssk. Oom Kosie (talk) 16:50, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't have a reference at the moment. I know it's OR and that's why I haven't included it in the article, but I have observed these birds many times. They have never made any other sound than the one described above, whether they are aware that I am observing or not. I'll see if I can find a reference.
