Disclosure first: I operate the third-party overview page linked at the end, I openly declare this conflict of interest, and I am deliberately not adding the link to the article myself.
The article describes the peninsula's geography and history but does not mention the seasonal vehicle-access regulation on the Formentor road (Ma-2210), in place since the 2018 mobility pilot and renewed each year. For 2026 the Consell de Mallorca sets the restriction from 15 May to 18 October, daily 10:00–22:00: unauthorised private vehicles may not use the km 8.7–19.6 section to the lighthouse during those hours; the beach section (km 2–8.7) stays open until its car park is full; and TIB line 334 (Alcúdia – Port de Pollença – Faro de Formentor) serves the peninsula. Residents, reduced-mobility transport and emergency/service vehicles need prior authorisation from the DGT (dgt.es, at least three working days ahead); unauthorised vehicles face fines.
Official primary sources:
Consell de Mallorca — traffic regulation at the Formentor lighthouse (current season; states 15 May–18 October, 10:00–22:00): https://www.conselldemallorca.es/es/web/formentor
TIB — line 334 timetable and route: https://www.tib.org
As a supplementary English-language overview that bundles the period, the two restriction zones and the bus/shuttle logic and links the official sources above, I would offer my page (hence only as a suggestion): https://mallorca-map.com/en/tips/formentor-2026-access-bus-restrictions
The section can of course be written from the official sources alone. I'm aware my page has a commercial context, so I put this to the community and will accept its decision. ~2026-39729-22 (talk) 10:51, 18 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
