Calum Chambers (born 20 January 1995) is an English footballer who plays as a right back for Premier League club "Southampton" Change to "Arsenal" . Arsenal are expected to confirm the signing of Southampton defender Calum Chambers for a fee of about £16m on Monday-( http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/28497920 ) VInsondsouza (talk) 12:11, 28 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Not done - "Expected to" is not good enough - wait until the transfer has officially taken place - you probably won't have to wait long Arjayay (talk) 12:24, 28 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Centreback??

[edit]

There are reports indicating that Wenger intends Chambers to play as a centre back. He has played there in the past. It should surely be mentioned along with right back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.56.236.223 (talk) 00:35, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

His natural position is central midfield. That should be mentioned as well.--95.44.26.247 (talk) 12:56, 1 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

This is all complete nonsense. He was originally a right winger, and moved to right-back later on. He has never played at centre-back for Southampton as far as I recall. If he does establish himself at centre-back, then fine, but for now it should be left as right-back (or just defender to be very conservative). Andre666 (talk) 19:52, 1 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
The cited BBC report on the Community Shield says that he was a right-back at Southampton, and that currently - albeit after just 90 minutes - he has only played centre-back for Arsenal. I heard him in a talkSPORT interview say that he is just as comfortable in centre mid and doesn't know where is best for him. '''tAD''' (talk) 17:51, 10 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
