"unique member"

What does "Calibanus hookeri is a unique member of the Asparagaceae family native to Tamaulipas in Mexico" intend to say? It is not a unique member of the A family, since there are many genera. Seems likely that it was intended to mean "unusual". I've removed it; I don't think it was necessary, whatever it was intended to mean. It would be good if we could get a photo that shows the caudex clearly (with leaves, there's a nice one of caudex only in Commons), to replace the one with the flower pot looking as though that is what is meant by the unusual appearance of the plant.
