[edit]Hi, I'm considering making some edits for a college course project. I've found a few academic peer-reviewed sources I thought would be beneficial to this page. I'm hoping to add a little more detail to the foliage section, add a section on flowers, plant use, and add a few more calathea cultivars to the list. Also planning to add a few more citations to specific areas in the text.

Native use section contains non-natives
[edit]If Calathea are not native to THAILAND, then why are Thai crafts included in the section "Native Uses"?!? Anyone who is a member of an Indigenous tribe in the southern areas of the western hemisphere where Calathea are found in nature would be considered a native. Furthermore, the way the paragraph is written reinforces the idea that people in villages use the leaves for craftwork and other purposes.
Since this is reallly confusing and poorly written, I suggest that the section be renamed to "Indigneous uses" and another section be created: "Other uses". The latter can include the Thai reference and other modern references, such as the use of tropical leaves in fashion design. 176.93.241.98 (talk) 04:22, 29 August 2022 (UTC)
