I've declined a speedy deletion tag, although I agree that the article I found had a number of advertising-like aspects; I've cleaned these out and left the essential elements, and there is an assertion of national-level notability with which I agree. Cactus Club Cafe has a new logo. We need a picture of the new logo for the {{infobox}}, preferably SVG. 64.114 etc 04:18, 22 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Requested edit: Update location count and areas served (infobox + lead)

[edit]

The infobox and lead paragraph both understate the chain's size and service area: they list 34 locations and "Canada" as the only area served, which is out of date and inconsistent with the article's own body text on U.S. expansion. Independent press confirms 35 locations as of February 2026, including now-open restaurants in Boston and Miami. The location count below is date-stamped rather than stated as a fixed fact, since additional U.S. locations have been publicly announced and the number may change again. COI disclosure: I am an employee of Cactus Restaurants Ltd. (operator of Cactus Club Cafe), per the disclosure on my user page.

1. Infobox

[edit]
  • number_of_locations: 34 → 35 (as of February 2026)[1][2][3]
  • area_served: Canada → Canada, United States[4]>[5]

2. Lead paragraph

[edit]

Current text:

"Cactus Club Cafe is a Canadian-owned chain of premium casual restaurants that originated in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The chain has since expanded to 34 locations throughout Canada, with other locations throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and the United States."

Proposed text:

"Cactus Club Cafe is a Canadian-owned chain of restaurants that originated in North Vancouver, British Columbia. As of 2026, the chain operates 35 locations across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and the United States."

Requested edit: U.S. expansion

[edit]

The History section currently ends with a sentence noting that U.S. expansion was announced in June 2025; that sentence is accurate and I'm not asking for it to be changed or removed. Two U.S. locations have since actually opened, so I'm requesting a short subsection be added immediately after that existing sentence, at the end of History, expanding on it with what has happened. COI disclosure: I am an employee of Cactus Restaurants Ltd. (operator of Cactus Club Cafe), per the disclosure on my user page.

Existing text: (retain as-is as the final sentence of the History section; shown here only to mark where the new subsection attaches)

In June 2025 they announced expansion to the United States.

Proposed text: (new subsection placed immediately after the sentence above, at the end of History)

U.S. expansion

[edit]

Cactus Club Cafe opened its first location in the United States in December 2025, at 500 Boylston Street in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.[1][2] The Boston restaurant, occupying roughly 9,500 square feet, had been announced in May 2025[3] and opened on December 9, 2025.[4]

A second U.S. location opened on February 10, 2026,[5] on the ground floor of the Citigroup Center at 201 South Biscayne Boulevard in downtown Miami, Florida.[6][7] The Miami restaurant seats approximately 280 guests across roughly 11,500 square feet.[8]

As of September 2026, the company has announced plans for additional U.S. locations beyond Boston and Miami, some of which remain under lease and have not yet opened.[9]

Requested edit: Culinary leadership correction (Feenie departure; Test Kitchen)

[edit]

This request makes two changes to the article's History section. First, it removes a present-tense, unverifiable claim that dishes created by Rob Feenie "are indicated on the restaurant's menus with 'RF'"; independent sourcing confirms Feenie's tenure with the company ended in 2022, so this claim about current menus can no longer be verified. Second, it adds a new "Culinary development" subsection at the end of the History section, noting Feenie's departure and introducing the company's current culinary leadership (Gregory McCallum and the in-house Test Kitchen team). The existing sentence describing Feenie's 2008 hire is not modified by this request. COI disclosure: I am an employee of Cactus Restaurants Ltd. (operator of Cactus Club Cafe), per the disclosure on my user page.

Change 1 - remove the "RF" sentence:

Current text:

Dishes created by Feenie are indicated on the restaurant's menus with "RF".

Proposed text: (none - this sentence is removed with no replacement)

Note: the immediately preceding sentence — "...That year, the company took on Rob Feenie (the first Canadian to win Iron Chef America) as its executive chef and 'food concept architect'." — is not part of this request and is not modified.

Change 2 — add a new "Culinary development" subsection:

Placement: at the end of the History section, and after the "U.S. expansion" subsection (if the request to add a "U.S. expansion" subsection is approved).

New subsection text:

Culinary development

[edit]

Feenie later held the title of executive chef. His tenure with the company ended in 2022, after roughly 15 years.[1][2]

Gregory McCallum serves as Executive Chef of Culinary Development, leading Cactus Club Cafe's in-house Test Kitchen team.[3][4] McCallum and the Test Kitchen have been independently credited with developing the menus for the company's first two U.S. restaurants, in Boston, Massachusetts, and Miami, Florida.[3][4][5][6]
