Date of CDPR’s Initial Public Offering??

When was the exact date CD Projekt Red’s Initial Public Offering on the public stock market? Someone please include this information in the article with particular cites. It is complicated. The previous name of the CD Projekt S.A. was the Optimus S.A. There was a reverse takeover on 2010-12-28. (Link in the polish Wikipedia to one article: https://web.archive.org/web/20110420130300/http://inwestycje.pl/fuzje_przejecia/optimus_s_a__polaczyl_sie_ze_spolka_zalezna_cdp_investment_sp__z_o_o_;112291;0.html ) At that point the Optinums S.A. was basically a corporation without products. The corporation debuted on the polish exchange on 2002-01-28. It was a reorganisation of a previous entity, though. The entry on the exchange site https://www.gpw.pl/spolka?isin=PLOPTTC00011 . If am not sure, but the name of the other result of the split was the Grupa Onet S.A. That company took the corporate personality of the original entity. How "controversial" does something have to be for the "controversy" section?

CDPR has faced accusations of sexism in the past, in particular for their support for GamerGate and its dismissive attitude in social media for those asking for more gender diversity and non-stereotypical depictions of women. If there are articles from reliable sources describing this, would this be relevant to add to the controversy section? Jaysbro (talk) 13:38, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

What...? When did they ever support GamerGate? They never did, as far as I'm aware, and they actually condemned it as an "abusive moment". In fact, they even fired someone over it. Some British guy who had been working at GOG as member of the PR/community team for only 6 months was fired over some tweets relating to that. Source: . Please stop trying to create more controversy around issues that don't exist.

Your point about sexism makes more sense, the first Wiedźmin game's portrayal of women and that ridiculous card-collecting mini-game was indeed pretty sexist, but that's fairly standard in this industry (at least it was in 2007). The company has since then become much more progressive. The third Wiedźmin game featured nuanced yet positive portrayals of a gay man as well as a cross-dressing male, both of which featured complex writing that puts BioWare and their fairy-tale worlds to shame. It is especially important that messages of acceptance, multi-culturalism, tolerance, and equality come from an Eastern European game development studio in a country that has struggled (and continues to struggle) with issues of religion and homophobia. This is the way to reach youth and educate them.

There are things to dislike about CD Projekt, such as the state they released Cyberpunk 2077 in or the crunch time they put their poor employees through, but both of those are already covered in this article and both have also improved significantly over time (just as the company's portrayal of women in their games has gotten better too).

Employees Number

CD Projekt does not have only 615 employees. This Number is the core Game developers that create Games. CD Projekt has over 1100 employees. This includes GOG, Molasses flood and CDPR. Just Look Up the latest "Fact Sheet of CD Projekt" 89.245.24.194 (talk) 20:42, 18 October 2024 (UTC)

Good point. I think this is likely a leftover from when this was an article for CD Projekt RED only.
