Suggestion: evolve the page to be about CCOR in general

[edit]

@Mirus255, just want to say that you've done a very nice job kickstarting this page with further details about the CCOR, so be proud of yourself. I do have something to suggest to you and to other talk page passers-by though, I won't be WP:BOLD about it just yet mostly so you have an opportunity to be on the same page, but I'd strongly consider evolving this page to be about CCOR in general, rather than the CCOR-1 implemented on GOES-19. My count at present is that we're eventually going to be up to four of these:

  • GOES-19 (CCOR-1)
  • SOLAR-1 (CCOR-2?)
  • PUNCH's NFI (no CCOR-# designation, because it's a derivative?)
  • ESA's Vigil (CCOR-3?)

There's room on each of the satellites' pages to go into specifics about their specific implementations such as FOVs/bitrate/etc. Just something I figure I should put in your ear given that its observational capabilities are going to be shared by multiple different spacecraft, and it probably doesn't make much sense to say start up an entirely new page for CCOR-2 on SOLAR-1. I'll think about that. Mirus255 (talk) 10:54, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
