"Usually male"

[edit]

I changed the short description, because a butler is "usually male" but not always male-exclusive. Have to make this distinguishment. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 00:07, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

One additional aspect not mentioned in this article, however, is that a person in charge of wine, etc. was so respected because it was a position for the most entrusted and loyal people only as in the past centuries spiking wine was one of the most popular methods of poisoning. So, it was extremely important to make sure that a person in charge of wine storing and serving would not be involved in conspiracy against his master and at the same time would be so smart and watchful to prevent any poisoning attempts. 2A02:A31D:85FF:BB80:2FB0:6553:B434:D66B (talk) 20:41, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
