Came here to ask the same question. There have been numerous books published within the last 30 years, not about this topic per se, but about the homegrown fascist movement in the 1930s. It's odd to me that none of that material has intersected with this topic. Separately, the names of businesspeople who opposed FDR are widely known, but are probably not mentioned directly in relation to this topic. A newish book that I am reading now argues that some companies felt threatened by the New Deal because it aimed to end child labor, which corporate America supported. And it did end it in 1938. In that year alone, wealthy businessmen had raised just under the equivalent of $20 million dollars today, which they used to wage a propaganda campaign to promote American free enterprise. My point was that the money was there for a coup if they wanted it. We know now that the January 6 self-coup was funded by corporate donors (Publix heiress and others), even though the mainstream media did their best to downplay this, just as the NYT dismissed the business plot.
