'bu 'nkafu ' (farm of cows)

A native Mashi-speaker from Bukavu told me today that the meaning is, rather 'small cow' (une pétite vâche). Perhaps he restricted his explanation to nkafu, which alone means 'small cow', beng a diminutive. In any case, I have added a citation needed tag. Nishidani (talk) 17:17, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Bukavu or bu-nkafu is a short term of Bulambo bwa nkafu which means in the shi language, the Land or place where cows are kept / get their food. In short, Bukavu means Land of Cows or the farm of Cows. Although, someone may interprete it as, very small cows as bu is a diminutive prefixe, and nkavu or nkafu is the cows. But is not usually used in this circumstance.
