Right now there is a review of the existing Brussels IIa (EC2201/2003) regulation. But it seems to be very intransparent. See e.g this FOI request: Brussels IIa (EC2201/2003) review - 28 Reports from 'each and every' memberstate for overall study

Regulation repealed and replaced
