Edit request: post-merger updates (COI disclosure)
[edit]| The user below has a request that an edit be made to Brivo. That user has an actual or apparent conflict of interest. The requested edits backlog is very high. Please be extremely patient. There are currently 891 requests waiting for review. Please read the instructions for the parameters used by this template for accepting and declining them, and review the request below and make the edit if it is well sourced, neutral, and follows other Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Remember to set the |answered= parameter to "yes" when the request has been accepted, rejected or on hold awaiting user input. |
I am employed by Brivo and am not editing the article directly. Requests are ordered by priority; each is independent, so please action any subset. I have kept these to factual corrections and have avoided promotional framing — happy to adjust anything that reads otherwise.
1. Factually incorrect statement (highest priority)
[edit]The History section currently states:
- The two companies will continue to operate as separate entities.
This is no longer accurate — the companies merged in December 2025, and the article says so two paragraphs later. Suggested replacement:
- The two companies initially continued to operate as separate entities.
Existing citation (Xconomy) still supports the revised sentence as of 2015.
2. Stale future tense
[edit]- Drako will serve as Brivo's chairman.
Written in 2015 and never updated. Suggested replacement:
- Drako became Brivo's chairman.
3. Merger is buried under "Acquisitions"
[edit]The December 2025 merger is currently the last sentence of the acquisitions section. It was a corporate combination, not an acquisition, and is arguably the most significant event in the company's recent history. I suggest promoting it to its own section:
- === Merger with Eagle Eye Networks (2025) ===
- In December 2025, Brivo and Eagle Eye Networks — both majority-owned by
- Dean Drako — completed a merger, with the combined company operating
- under the Brivo name.[1] Drako became chief executive
- officer of the combined company, and Brivo founder Steve Van Till became
- president.[2] The merged company retained offices in
- Bethesda, Maryland and Austin, Texas.[1]
Sources (both independent trade press, already cited elsewhere in the article):
- Security Systems News, "Brivo and Eagle Eye Networks merge to create global
cloud-native security company," 29 December 2025. https://www.securitysystemsnews.com/article/brivo-and-eagle-eye-networks-merge-to-create-global-cloud-native-security-company
- SecurityInfoWatch, "Brivo and Eagle Eye Networks Complete Long-Anticipated
Merger." https://www.securityinfowatch.com/integrators/article/55340731/
I have deliberately omitted the "largest AI-native cloud platform" framing from those headlines, as it originates in the companies' own announcement.
4. Products section predates the merger
[edit]The lead sentence describes Brivo as providing "access control, video surveillance, visitor management, and intrusion detection," but the Products section lists only two access-control-era items (Brivo Access, Brivo Snapshot). The section is now incomplete relative to the lead.
Suggested addition, kept to plain product identification:
- * Brivo Security Suite. Cloud platform combining access control, video
- surveillance, visitor management, and intrusion detection in a single
- interface.
- * Brivo Eagle Eye video management system. Cloud video surveillance
- platform, formerly marketed as Eagle Eye Cloud VMS prior to the 2025 merger.
I recognise the company website is a primary source. I cite it only for product names and categories under WP:ABOUTSELF, and make no claim of significance: https://www.brivo.com/platform/security-suite/
If editors prefer to wait for independent coverage of the post-merger product line before adding this, that is entirely reasonable.
5. Citation date errors
[edit]Two references have retrieval dates that predate their sources:
- The SecurityInfoWatch merger article (refs 1 and 3) is marked "retrieved
7.17.24," but the merger occurred in December 2025.
- The TechCrunch joint-funding article (ref 39) is dated 2023 but marked
"Retrieved May 17, 2022."
6. Infobox
[edit]The infobox does not reflect the merged entity. Where sourced to the trade coverage above, it may warrant updating for headquarters (Bethesda, Maryland and Austin, Texas) and key people (Drako as CEO and chairman; Van Till as president).
Thanks for reviewing. I am glad to supply additional sourcing or to withdraw any item that editors consider promotional.
