[edit]@LEvalyn, Hemiauchenia, ImaginesTigers, and PARAKANYAA: I have now started a draft for the website of the Britannica. I found some possibly good references. Nevertheless I am a bit stumped on how to title the article and exactly what its scope should be. ―Howard • 🌽33 22:09, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'd call it "Brittanica" because that's what they call it in their own entry. I think your opening sentences define the article's scope: "Brittanica is an English-language online encyclopaedia. Managed by Encyclopaedia Brittanica Inc., it is the digital successor to the print series of the same name." Some details on contributors would probably follow at a high level. Beyond that, I'm sure there's plenty of sources describing why they made the change – tell a little story of how they decided to move away from print. They mention changes to corporate ownership on their own entry so it's possible you could include that as context, too. Check out their article on themselves as a good starting point IMO. Great work making this :) — ImaginesTigers (talk) 22:45, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think "Britannica" is good on its own as it's shorthand for the book encyclopedia as well. I would accept "Britannica (website)" though. Hemiauchenia (talk) 00:59, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Encyclopædia Britannica Online is also ok. Hemiauchenia (talk) 21:40, 30 April 2025 (UTC)

- I think All the Knowledge in the World briefly discusses the transition of Britannica to the internet. I don't have the book anymore but it might be worth checking out. ―Howard • 🌽33 20:57, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- Britannica.com itself also has some details about its online transition (relatively brief) and (quite detailed) though these are obviously WP:PRIMARY and non independent, and should be used with care. Hemiauchenia (talk) 21:12, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
Publication
[edit]@Hemiauchenia: the article looks ready for publication at this moment. If you don't object I'll move it to mainspace. ―Howard • 🌽33 17:07, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
