- What’s a hat note? Nicebear12345 (talk) 23:34, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
- The Not to be confused with... message are called hatnotes. See Wikipedia:Hatnote for more information, the template used is Template:Distinguish. – The Grid (talk) 15:58, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- why is the hatnote not needed? Nicebear12345 (talk) 16:21, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- Nicebear12345, why is it needed? Who is going to confuse these names? I could see it if there were 2 Brandon’s in Florida, or a Brandon and a Brandon Springs, but these two names are not that similar — Jacona (talk) 20:03, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- I personally confuse them , I thought that it will be better for others Nicebear12345 (talk) 21:38, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- Nicebear12345, I would tend more to get it mixed up with Brandon, Mississippi, Brandon, South Dakota, or the other five cities in the US named Brandon. there are also several Brandon townships, Brandonvilles, and other names much more similar than Bradenton. I don’t know what the specific policy is, maybe you could look it up? — Jacona (talk) 11:19, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
- also i think why is because they are close to each other and so people are likely to talk about both of them in conversation compared to cities in different states. Nicebear12345 (talk) 12:33, 7 August 2026 (UTC)
