don't know if anyone knows, but bobbin is also the name given to pins that are inserted into holes situated on the axles of motorcycles in order to prevent damage to the motorcycle when lifting it off it's wheels using a paddock stand

216.154.36.140 (talk) 17:31, 28 May 2021 (UTC) I think a statement needs to be added to the sewing machine section to help the understanding of how a bobbin works - it's key that the bobbin case is not attached to an axle, in order allow the top thread to pass completely around the bobbin and hook the bottom thread.Reply
