Conflict-of-interest edit request: factual corrections and career updates

I am Robert “Bob” Judson, the subject of this article, and therefore have a conflict of interest. I am requesting these changes on the Talk page rather than editing the article directly. I would be grateful if an uninvolved editor could consider the following factual, neutral and non-promotional amendments.

1. RAF career: Queen's 80th birthday flypast

The final part of the first paragraph currently states that the flypast was “considered the largest flypast the Royal Air Force has produced in decades”. This wording now reads as if the claim remains current.

I request that the sentence be amended to read:

Judson has been involved in several milestone events, personally piloting the 100th Typhoon off the production line to RAF Coningsby from the BAE Systems Warton factory, and acting as overall formation leader for HM The Queen's 80th birthday flypast of nearly 50 aircraft, at the time considered to be the largest flypast the Royal Air Force had produced in decades.

The existing sources appear to support the event and the number of aircraft:

2. RAF career: Channel 5 documentary

The second paragraph currently states that Judson “stars in the Channel Five documentary Warzone”.

The programme was originally broadcast as Warzone. It was subsequently re-edited, expanded with additional episodes and rebroadcast as Air Force Afghanistan. I also suggest replacing “stars in” with the more neutral “appeared in”.

I request that the relevant wording be amended to read:

Judson served as commander of Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan in 2008 and appeared in the Channel 5 documentary Warzone. The programme was subsequently re-edited, expanded and rebroadcast as Air Force Afghanistan.

I recognise that an additional published source may be required to verify the relationship between the two programme titles.

3. RAF career: Targeting and Information Operations

The third paragraph incorrectly describes the appointment as “Director Targeting and Information Operations”.

The correct title was Head of Targeting and Information Operations. The post structure changed as Judson took up the appointment, with one-star officers designated as Heads and two-star officers designated as Directors, bringing the structure into line with Civil Service titles.

I request that the paragraph be amended to read:

Judson was appointed Head of Targeting and Information Operations in the Ministry of Defence in November 2008, serving in the role until 2010.

The existing RAF Air Rank Appointments List may support the appointment and date, although the title requires correction:

4. Later senior RAF appointments

The article currently ends its account of Judson's RAF career with the 2008 Targeting and Information Operations appointment, omitting his subsequent appointments and promotion to air vice-marshal.

I request the addition of the following neutral paragraph:

From January to October 2011, Judson served as the Chief of the Defence Staff's Liaison Officer to the Chairman of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff. He was Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Operations) from October 2011 until March 2013. He was subsequently appointed Director Joint Warfare in Joint Forces Command, serving from April 2013 until October 2014.

The title of his final appointment was Director Joint Warfare. The former title associated with the preceding organisation had ceased to be used before Joint Forces Command was formed.

A chronology of Ministry of Defence senior appointments records Judson's service as liaison officer from January to October 2011, as Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Operations) from October 2011 to March 2013, and in the subsequent Joint Warfare appointment from April 2013 to October 2014:

I request that the following changes be considered for the military infobox.

Post-nominals

The post-nominals should be:

The current article includes only FRAeS and FCMI. I recognise that the additional post-nominals may require published verification before they can be included. They may be confirmed by the subject's entry in Who's Who, to which I am seeking access.

Commands

The commands should include:

• No. 6 Squadron (1999-2002)

• RAF Coningsby (2004-2006)

• Kandahar Airfield (2008)

Conflicts

Judson flew operational sorties during both Operation Deny Flight over Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Iraqi no-fly zones conflict, as well as serving in Afghanistan. His Iraqi no-fly-zone service included extensive flying over northern Iraq and command of the detachment conducting no-fly-zone operations over southern Iraq in 1998.

The proposed conflicts list is:

• Operation Deny Flight

• Iraqi no-fly zones conflict

• War in Afghanistan

The subject holds the relevant campaign medals, but I recognise that publicly accessible independent attribution linking him personally to the first two operations may not be available. If that does not meet Wikipedia's verification requirements, I understand that these two additions should be deferred until a suitable published source can be provided.

6. Corporate career

The corporate career section currently states:

“Since 2015, Judson is a Director in the Resilience and Crisis Management Team, part of Deloitte UK's Risk Advisory service line.”

This is outdated and presents the 2015 appointment as if it remains current.

I request that it be replaced with:

After retiring from the Royal Air Force in 2015, Judson joined Deloitte UK as a director in its Resilience and Crisis Management team, part of the firm's Risk Advisory service line. He subsequently left Deloitte. Bob Judson Consulting Limited was incorporated in 2018.
