what is the population

acording to the artical its 85,547 people in 2005 but im certain that this can't be true thats more likely a metro politan figure covering a larger area then just the city proper. heres some offical population numbers 14,406.(1971)...33,745..(1995)..38,623.(2005)..44,030...(2009) as you can see in these figures that the city proper is not at 85,547 people and if this is a metro politan fiure id like to see a map showing its actual boundaries. 76.211.5.253 (talk) 21:37, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

Likely vandalism

At the end of the Transportation and infrastructure section, this paragraph is written.

Bluefields was also known as home of the British Armed Forces strategic operations zone (SOZ), which was built in 1936 with the initial goal of countering the further Nazi Germany Atlantic invasion of Nicaragua during World War II—recently it has been used to block drug trafficking from Mexico to outside Nicaragua via Bluefields, and provide temporary humanitarian aid storage for natural disasters.

Evidently, there appears to be no such evidence of a strategic operations zone in Nicaragua, much less built in 1936 (before WW2) to counter a Nazi invasion of Nicaragua. Which is frankly absurd to think about in the first place. I don't know if there were anti-submarine campaigns undertaken in this general region or things like that, but this appears to be either vandalism or very poorly written history.
