I have information that an immature blue-black grassquit (Volatinia jacarina) was observed July 30, 2018, in Santa Clara county, California, specifically in San Jose. That it was reported in a metropolitan area of a city would give credence to its being regarded as not being of natural occurrence and is an escape.
