Excessive details about others - 20th Jan 2026 Edit Request

Personal Life - Relationships and sexuality has been marked as containing an excessive amount of detail for years.

Please clean up the article by removing excessive information about teenage and unknown relationships, where ordinary people are named and excessively detailed. Armstrong is 53 and has been married for 30 years so it doesn't seem relevant for the level of detail that was added in.

Also, there is excessive details on the career and personal life of one of his son's regarding a former relationship and a record label controversy unrelated to either Armstrong. This seems to be copied and pasted from the son's former bands wiki in full. Consider removing the extraneous details after "Both sons are musicians, with the former being a former drummer in the band SWMRS.[103]", or simply leaving it at, "Both sons are also musicians.[103]".

Personal Life section could use a few small changes to tighten it up and improve flow and cohesion.

Could replace entire section with this rewrite: "In June 2018, Armstrong was given honorary citizenship of Viggiano, the Italian commune from where his paternal great-great-grandparents hailed, by Viggiano's mayor Amedeo Cicala.[74] He is agnostic.[78]

Armstrong is a fan of soccer[77] and is one of the co-owners of Oakland Roots SC. In 2024, Green Day saw several Las Vegas radio stations pull their songs after Armstrong described the city as a "shithole" following the relocation of the Oakland Athletics to the city.[76]

Timeline issues

I read this: "Hoping to clear his head and develop new ideas for songs, Armstrong traveled to New York City alone for a few weeks in 2003, renting a small apartment in the East Village of Manhattan. He spent much of this time taking long walks and participating in jam sessions in the basement of Hi-Fi, a bar in Manhattan. However, the friends he made during this time drank too much for his liking, which was the catalyst for Armstrong's return to the Bay Area. After returning home, Armstrong was arrested for driving under the influence on January 5, 2003, and released on $1,200 bail." So according to this, he went to New York for a few weeks in 2003, went BACK home to bay area, and after returning was arrested on JANUARY 5, 2003 - how can he have spent a few weeks in New York in 2023, and come back to get arrest on Jan 5th of same ear?
