POV

[edit]

A heading entitled "controversies" is inherently POV and also an issue of WP:UNDUE. These topics should be incorporated into the rest of the article. Iggy pop goes the weasel (talk) 19:26, 23 June 2025 (UTC), Wiki link added by PerLundberg (talk) 19:25, 11 July 2025 (UTC).Reply

Seconded. Even outside of that section, a lot of this article seems critical in nature, particularly in the "Political positions" section. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 17:47, 17 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Was reading the controversies section - Maybe we can merge #Antitrust litigations and treatments towards coworkers part into the Microsoft section?
For Epstein stuff I have no idea. I don't know what section should it belong to even if we were only going to mention it in a passing sentence. Personal life? Seems odd. Political positions...? This section itself is POV...
Maybe we should create a section named "Outside Microsoft" or something like that. 海盐沙冰 (talk) 09:12, 30 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I've moved everything in the controversies section into more appropriate locations. The question now is whether those sections need paring back, or whether they are appropriate. If/when we are content that the coverage is appropriate, the POV tag can go. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 07:53, 23 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
"A heading entitled "controversies" is inherently POV"
Not at all. It's quite possible to be completely neutral and recognize controversies.
Same for "Criticisms". Selbstporträt (talk) 01:30, 9 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Agree. Neutrality becomes an issue only when one favors or skews one side of any controversy. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 17:54, 13 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Dutch Court Orders Bill Gates to Stand Trial Over COVID-19 Vaccine Allegations

Not done, that's just a headline. There's no context or apparent significance to it. Deacon Vorbis (carbon  videos) 22:57, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
It is not "just a headline." There is a report below the headline and there was a court ruling. The substance of the ruling is that Gates was named as part of a defendant group in a vaccine safety lawsuit. His lawyers argued that he is a US resident and therefore outside Dutch court jurisdiction, but the Dutch court concluded that, under the circumstances, this is insufficient for dismissal before trial. ~2026-27607-47 (talk) 01:46, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Being a defendant id very different from being found guilty. 03:37, 30 June 2026 (UTC)
No one here has said that he was found guilty. ~2026-27607-47 (talk) 20:24, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Then we don't mention it. Acroterion (talk) 22:22, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Good Article reassessment discussion

[edit]

The article should be reassessed and removed from Good Article status.

It has a neutrality concern that remains unresolved for a long time, which fails the criteria requirements. Since this issue has persisted without resolution, the article no longer satisfies the standards expected of a Good Article. - The9Man Talk 10:18, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

What neutrality concern might that be? ~2026-27607-47 (talk) 01:24, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Add public domain photo from 1980s

[edit]

Found a high quality public domain color photo of Bill Gates from the 1980s via a Tandy magazine ad and uploaded it to Commons (File:Bill Gates with Tandy 2000 running Windows 1.0 (1984).jpg). Might be worth adding to the article! Suspiciouscelery (talk) 01:44, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Bill Gates and Epstein Connection

[edit]

Why the topic on Epstein Connection is so small? It also does not include some other notable facts and images that could provide more background on this incident. I am looking for making edits if no one is gonna do it. Morris (talk with this worm) 02:22, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

It is not small, and it has an image. What do you believe is missing? ~2026-27607-47 (talk) 00:21, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

July is misspelled as jully

[edit]

this is within the first paragraph when talking about as of now. ~2026-40261-05 (talk) 00:21, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. Thanks for the heads-up. HiLo48 (talk) 02:06, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
