Too many photos in the infobox
[edit]An editor is trying to increase the number of photos in the gallery in the infobox from 6 to 12. Not only is this too many to be useful, it also makes the infobox too large. A good solution to the latter would be to switch to 3 photos per row (perrow = 3/3/3/3). Going back to having 6 photos seems a better solution. The infobox is not meant to be the entire article; some editors seem only to care about the infobox.-- Toddy1 (talk) 13:21, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- i)
- The idea was meant to reflect the architectural diversity of the state
- The six new photos include a major sikh pilgrimage site, a major jain temple with an original setting, two major hindu temples (one being quite ancient) and a royal palace that serves as the campus grounds of a university
- ii)
- I don't personally care about just the infobox
- I've actually trimmed some down that featured unnecessary data on climate or per capita income
- You might want to see how I've rewritten the introductions to Indore, Gwalior and Kannauj without removing any information or references
- The previous versions were, I'm sorry to say, rubbish
- iii)
- I'm not going to fight the photo issue here but I think I deserve some thanks instead of threats directly on my talk page
- You could also have pinged me here if you wanted to act in good faith
- Regards Varoon2542 (talk) 13:29, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- This issue here are that 6 is enough photos for the infobox. If you think that some or all of the photos you suggested should be in the infobox, please suggest which photos should be removed - and say whether the removed photos should be put in a gallery in the article.-- Toddy1 (talk) 13:33, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- Whole cities have six or more pictures, how can a state have less ?
- I'm less keen on keeping the Valmiki Natural Park (it's not extraordinary like the Sundarbans) and Ghora Katora should be kept at all costs
- The Shyama Mai Temple can be removed, it's relatively new and there are already two Darbhanga monuments
- The rest seems justified Varoon2542 (talk) 13:43, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- That’s not how it works. Your singular opinion does not mean the entire article can be upended and you cannot brute force your way into achieving your desired version of the article by edit warring. Ixudi (talk) 14:58, 30 April 2026 (UTC)
- So far, there has been two opponents to the modifications sought
- Noone else seems to mind
- This article on a state is the only one with so few images in the introduction
- There's no rule on the maximum number of images
- If there's no other opposition, I'll simply compromise and include 10 pictures instead of 12 so as to have an even number Varoon2542 (talk) 14:35, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
- There are two issues:
- Which photos are in the infobox? If you want to experiment with different photos in the infobox, the talk page would be a good place to do it.
- How many photos are in the infobox? Other editors have objected to your increasing the number to 12; nobody else has has expressed support for more that 6.
- Please do not increase the number of photos in the infobox without consensus.-- Toddy1 (talk) 15:49, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
- So while you were all lecturing me about the number of images, somebody else just added another image, that of an ordinary temple with no particular architectural interest Varoon2542 (talk) 14:06, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
- 10 is ridiculous. I honestly don't mind the 6 there right now. But 12 would be out of control. If you want to add images, feel free to add them here on the talk page before we start edit warring over them on the homepage. ~2026-26835-35 (talk) 18:43, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
- I think 6 is plenty. I made an edit that was reverted, unaware of this discussion. However I believe the images that i included in the infobox highlight the religious significance of the region. Would be open to have a discussion on this. エンドくさん (talk) 01:18, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
- In addition to this, I want all to know that few other Indian state articles also have excess photos in infobox. The ones that come off top of my mind are West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh. So far the discussion in here about adding too many images has been somewhat constructive but can't say the same for elsewhere. Hence I'm not making the edits for this dispute myself. Sddarealone (talk) 07:53, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
- I think there is also an excess of images present on those articles as well, but solving it will require some broader consensus. There is probably some regional-political undertones that makes any discussion on what images to include, a little bit contentious. Especially Jammu and Kashmir. エンドくさん (talk) 00:03, 24 May 2026 (UTC)

Request for change.
[edit]Could anyone please correct the grammar and change this:
There is also a smaller production of Magadhi-, Maithili language films.
to this?
Changed text: There is also a smaller production of Magadhi- and Maithili-language films.
Thank you! It's in the Cinema sub-section of the Culture section of the article.
I would do it myself, but the section is partially protected from edits. ~2026-34896-85 (talk) 10:31, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

AI
[edit]I restored the AI tag, as none of the issues were addressed. The rationale, which is also visible in the tag text:
July 2025 edits such as this and others by this user; note WP:AISIGNS in promotional tone, vocab distribution typical of 2025 LLMs, etc. Note that these edits are *not* confined to one section, this is why the tag is at the top of the page
In case it's unclear, this means all this user's edits must be either rewritten + factchecked, or removed, per WP:NOLLM. Do not remove the tag until this is done. Gnomingstuff (talk) 16:30, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
