Are there more

[edit]

@Anupam:, I was on the verge of removing this addition, but then digging a little I found this, so not only the Hoysala Brahmins, there are many from other states including Gujarat, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, etc bearing the surname. Please have a look. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:39, 8 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Bhatt (last name)Bhatt – Since the titles “Bhatt” and “Bhatt (surname)” already involve existing redirects and some page history, I request that this page be moved to “Bhatt” as the primary title for the surname article. Kashmiri Pandit (talk) 18:53, 28 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Blanket revert appeal

[edit]

Since May 18, 2026, @Logical Editor Kakji had made edits to the Bhatt article. Those edits were on a distinct topic, unrelated to the topic of other articles, for which the account was blocked. The edits were correct and had been widely accepted, and the page was also moved in the meantime, with consensus. The sudden blanket revert by @Cena332 disrupts the article's development and removes a significant amount of content that was added later. Also it doesn't align to the rename of the page. XYZWORLDS (talk) 06:40, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

I find it curious that your account has been made right now. All the edits I reverted on Bhatt had to do with Logical Editor Kakji revisions. Any edits made inbetween by other editors was just fixing his edits he made. You say 'those edits were on a distance topic' for which he was banned, that is not true the reason he was banned was that he was abusing multiple accounts. I'll leave it to administrators determination but something is very suspicious here. Why is ~2026-37463-46 & @XYZWORLDS who both have made their accounts today commenting on me reverting edits of Sock account that has been blocked. Cena332 (talk) 07:13, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Update XYZWORLDS was as a sock of Logical Editor Kakji. Cena332 (talk) 17:15, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

In my estimation Arjayay, all we would have to do is just change the articles name back to Bhat? before Logical Editor Kakji (then Kashmiri Pandit) moved the page himself in May, what your opinion Cena332 (talk) 17:23, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 3 July 2026

[edit]

BhattBhat – After discussion with Arjayay on his talk page, he recommended i open a request move. Basically a sock had been editing this page, I removed all his revisions, but the title that he renamed himself on May 28 is still the same. In order for the page to go back to as it was, we would need to rename article back to Bhat. Cena332 (talk) 06:11, 3 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

  • Support. The move made on 28 May 2026 (Bhat > Bhatt (last name)) was totally undiscussed, and was not supported by any evidence, nor by the requested move of 20 March 2021 (see above).
The move made at 21:17, 4 June 2026 (Bhatt (last name) > Bhatt) was made simply because there was no need for a disambiguating term, not an endorsement of the previous move. To avoid possible confusion, User:Kashmiri Pandit, as referred to in the 28 May move, was the user name of User:Logical Editor Kakji before their account was renamed. - Arjayay (talk) 09:53, 3 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Support – The current title was changed without discussion. Moving it back to the previous title restores the stable version. Accesscrawl (talk) 13:48, 3 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

*Oppose – The term Bhat is transliterated as भट while the term Bhatt is transliterated as भट्ट, which is the original Sanskrit term. It's a common thought that both Bhat and Bhatt are the shortened forms of Bhatta but actually Bhatta is essentially its pronunciation form "Bhaṭṭa". The term Bhat is pronounced in the same way in the modern world but its exact pronunciation is Bhāṭ, which is not the original pronunciation of the surname. Also, the surname Bhatt is more commonly used than Bhat. ~2026-32628-41 (talk) 14:25, 3 July 2026 (UTC) Striking comment by blocked sockpuppet TA. Mfield (Oi!) 17:13, 3 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
