The word Hungarian Gypsies identify this group as different from Hungarian Roma. Gypsy is not a slur when used in the proper context. Who is this asking these questions. Hungarian Gypsy Music is not Hungarian Roma music and Roma music does not define what Gypsy music you are referring to. I wrote the book "Gypsy Violins Hungarian Slovak Gypsies in America" with a full explanation of this title, buy the book. Checking Wikipedia there are over 500 pages titled with the work "Gypsy" including the movie. Not one has been tagged as a slur, this is the only page. So this is an intentional attack. There is no mention of Bashadle Roma (Gypsy) written in history. There is mention of Hungarian Gypsies and Slovak Gypsies of the same Roma in America. Bashadle was a name made up by two people. All the citations in the original Wikipedia page say they are Hungarian Gypsies from Kassa Hungarian which today is Kosice, Slovakia. The only mention of Bashadle comes from Ian Hancock and Bill Duna. Hancock wrote many books on "Gypsies" and uses the word "Gypsy" hundreds of time. History can not be changed to what you think it should be, you can't rename group of people to what you think it should be. I have much history on these Gypsies called Hungarian Gypsies. At the time they immigrated to America Slovakia was part of Hungary. They carry the Hungarian and Slovak traditions. This is easily proven. There is no proof they were called "Bashadle" Gypsy. Wikipedia is not to makeup history, it is to let readers know of the true history. My book Gypsy Violins Hungarian - Slovak Gypsies in America has been accepted in the communities of Hungarians, Slovaks, and Gypsies. In has been in studies from Harvard University, Oberlin University, University of Pittsburg, Texas University. It is in the Library of Congress, and been in Media from Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Open Society Foundations, William Penn Magazine, Cleveland Magazine, Toledo University, Hungarian Museum in Cleveland, Slovak Museum in Slovakia, Roosevelt University in Chicago, Professor Steve Balkin, and much more. Bashadle is only mentioned by Ian Hancock and Bill Duna. There is much history on Hungarian - Slovak Gypsies and no history on Bashadle Gypsies.
