There is no such thing as a Balearic dialect, there are several dialects spoken in the Balearics, but there is no name for that group. They are Mallorquin/Mallorquí, Menorquin/Menorquí and Ibicenco/Eivissenc (in Spanish/Respective dialect). This article should be re-titled and proper reference made to each dialect.

It's true. This should be said in the article, so that there are three sections and as much subsections as neccessary (don't forget that there are noticeable differences between mallorquin speakers). Anyway, I think the Balearic title is appropiate, and making sections would be enough. Also, articles called Mallorquí, Menorquí and Eivissenc should be created that redirect to this one. Perhaps a rename to Balearic dialects would be in order. I interpret Balearic to be on par with terms like Northern Catalan and Central Catalan where there isn't complete uniformity but there are a body of distinguishing features. I don't recall how it's treated in the linguistic literature on Catalan. — Ƶ§œš¹ [ãːɱ ˈfɹ̠ˤʷɪ̃ə̃nlɪ] 21:12, 16 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
The extra s makes sense. Nobody says I speak Balearic, however, from the point of view of an external observer, the islands share a number of salient linguistic traits. --Jotamar (talk) 14:24, 18 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
