Municipality of Balatan → Balatan, Camarines Sur – Revert back to the standard article title format for Philippine towns with doubtful uniqueness. Balatan has been retargeted to the article about the sea cucumber. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 10:07, 18 February 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. TarnishedPathtalk 13:28, 26 February 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. - Move. We have never named municipal/city/province articles like this. User responsible for this should be notified about MOS:PHILIPPINES. Borgenland (talk) 13:56, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Borgenland: would you be happy to restore this as the primary topic, per long-term status quo? See my !vote below. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 14:02, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- I'd love to WP:BOLD but since the vote has been initiated I'm not sure whether I'm authorized to do so. Borgenland (talk) 14:06, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Oh yes, I don't mean we should move it immediately, given that votes have already been cast (although it would have been better if it had been reverted prior to the discussion starting). But I mean is your preference to move this to Balatan, Camarines Sur per the initial nomination, or to revert it back to Balatan? If the RM finishes as no consensus, then by default it would go back to the original title, since the move was undiscussed in the first place. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 14:20, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- @JWilz12345, Hariboneagle927, and Nickrds09: I would ask you the same question as well. Should this be reverted back to Balatan so it's primary topic? — Amakuru (talk) 14:22, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Should be back to Balatan if no notable disambig exists. Borgenland (talk) 14:31, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose and move back to Balatan. This page was moved from that title earlier this month, and a redirect established to Sea cucumbers as food but there is no justification for such a redirect - the name is a Talagog word and is rarely used in English sources for sea cucumbers. The municipality is the primary topic, and a hatnote is perfectly sufficient. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 13:57, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Balatan is the Filipino word for "Sea cucumbers". 🗽Freedoxm🗽(talk • contribs) 03:14, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- It is not commonly used per Amakuru and is not even known among PH residents, a big number of which aren’t even Tagalog in the first place. Furthermore, MOS:PHILIPPINES means we do not start place names with Municipality/City/Province of, which honestly makes this article name a sore thumb, if not silly. We don’t exactly have to rename Mali into the Republic of Mali just because it is also the Filipino word for “wrong”. Borgenland (talk) 02:00, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- Balatan in Tagalog more commonly means "to skin" or "to peel" something. However, it can also mean "to cover/wrap something", which is essentially the opposite of the former. HueMan1 (talk) 07:48, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

- Move to Balatan per above. HueMan1 (talk) 07:49, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: Discussion is currently split (see Borgenland's second bolded comment, which looks like they might be changing their mind, unless I've misinterpreted that) If that's the case, majority points to Balatan, with the arguments for that title currently appearing stronger, and that is also the status quo if this is a no-consensus close ASUKITE 16:23, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
- Definitely anything but the pompous M word. Borgenland (talk) 02:13, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
- Revert back to Balatan, revert undiscussed move WP:RMUM, while it may mean sea cucumbers in Tagalog, I don't see it as used for "sea cucumbers" in English, and search results of "Balatan" usually point to this article's subject so the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The current doesn't meet MOS:PHILIPPINES nonetheless. DankJae 19:44, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
