Removed from article feb 2008

I removed this from the article. Either this or the initial claim in the article's lead should be referenced: "Backus is not a German derivative. Rather it is English, making it's first mention in 1303. It is derived from an old english verb "baran" meaning to bake, and "hus" meaning house. With a bit of retooling over the years it was shortened to Backus." --Berland (talk) 07:18, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
