Shouldn't U2 be mentioned under bands using backing tracks? I think they utilize them to do the synth parts on Streets and that sort of thing. The Who also used one to do the sequencing on Baba O Riley and Won't Get Fooled Again.

By all means add U2 to the list if they do use backing tracks. It would be particularly good if you could find evidence for this. It's been fairly difficult to obtain references, as bands seem to be a bit secretive about their backing track systems, or maybe they just don't consider it interesting.

[edit]As the subject says, I changed "acts" to "contestants" to not confuse readers who might think we're referring to a theatrical play division in the part that previously read "[....] that ''acts'' perform only the vocals live to simplify the process of mixing the performance."
