Spiral VTHL is not a VTHL?

[edit]

Hello, I am new to Wikipedia so apologies if I make any mistakes. I have noticed that this article states that the Soviet Spiral spaceplane was a VTHL (vertical takeoff, horizontal landing), yet for some websites it seems to fit the category of HTHL (horizontal takeoff, horizontal landing). Am I missing something here or is this a mistake? Skelecorn Inc (talk) 22:03, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Repurposed vehicle

[edit]

The article states that this BOR-4 vehicle is a sub scale prototype of the Spiral spaceplane, then states that it was flown to test tiles for the Buran program. Perhaps it would be helpful to add a sentence between these two statements to say that BOR-4 was repurposed as a demonstrator to test the thermal tiles for the Buran space shuttle program, noting that Buran was a winged spacecraft, while BOR-4 was a lifting body design. ~2026-18848-95 (talk) 02:22, 27 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
