The content of the article has been updated to reflect Sloane's name change, but not the title. The Title of the article needs to be changed to reflect Sloane's new name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JamesWaide (talk • contribs) 08:52, 12 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

"In 2016, Sloane was the first female composer to win The Cambridge Young Composer of the Year Competition"
The article currently refers to "female composer". The source supports this description. Given that the subject of the article identifies as non-binary, would "non-male composer" be more appropriate? Would we need a source to show that previous winners of the competition were male? Is it patronizing to bring gender into this, especially when the subject is non-binary and so might not appreciate bringing gender into this? (Perhaps the article should focus on the subject winning the competition, instead of being the first of a gender category?)

I've just removed §Performers and §Venues as they're totally unsourced. If any of the content is relevant, it may be re-added with references. The way it was previously included was not appropriate, and as a list with no real context, was WP:IINFO. MIDI (talk) 09:24, 25 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
