It seems he was an industrialist who supported medical research, including a visiting professorship. ("Sir Arthur Sims, Hon. F.R.C.S. (1877-1969)". Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. 44 (6): 357–358. 1969. PMC 2387621. PMID 4891710.) is an obituary, but this issue has not yet been digitised for Pubmed Central.
