Artemis 3 mission update

Artemis VI onward

Updated budget

The sidebar says that Artemis has cost $93 billion as of 2025, but the only cited source is a report from 2021. The 2021-2025 figures are based on what the report estimated would be spent in the next four years. Can we find an updated source that tells us what was actually spent? Change in mission structure

Artemis IV will now be the first lunar landing in 2028, with Artemis III being used to test LEO capabilities. Oakchris1955 (talk) 16:14, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

As I noted on Talk:Artemis III, I'd suggest renaming the Artemis III mission to to Artemis IV ... and so on ... and creating a new Artemis III article. It's not so much that Artemis III has been changed, but a new mission has been inserted between the flights. Nfitz (talk) 16:36, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

Very confusing article indeed

This is from a reader - not an editor. This article appears to be being updated in a very inefficient way. In the opening paragraph we are told that the "Lunar Gateway" has been cancelled (with no references to the cancellation) and by the second paragraph the Lunar Gateway is back as a core component of the whole programme. Throughout the various other articles about the Artemis programme - including further missions this oscillates between happening and not happening. It seems as though someone adds the "cancellation" of lunar gateway and then doesn't bother to remove references to it further down the page. I realise that I'm probably not observing all the Wikipedian stuff here... but hey, I'm the target audience. And this is confusing. Thankyou ~2025-43733-41 (talk) 18:41, 28 March 2026 (UTC)

Named after Apollo's twin sister?

Size of lunar landing crew

Nowhere in the discussion of the lunar lander for the Artemis program does it seem to inform on how many of the Orion crew would make the landing. For Apollo, it was two of the three. Artemis carries four crew members - do two land and two stay aboard the Orion? Or three land and one stay aboard? Or will all FOUR land and the Orion will run empty until the crew returns? This statement, from the article specifically about Artemis IV, seems to indicate that it will be the entire crew: "Once docked, the crew will transfer to the lander, descend to the lunar surface, conduct extravehicular activities, and then return to Orion in lunar orbit for the journey back to Earth." "Time until complete" on the "Missions" table

I added the "Time until complete" to the "Missions" table. The problem is that it seems to be breaking the table and semi-merging the row with the "Status" section. Can someone please fix it? Thank you! Floating Orb Talk! ^{my edits} 05:48, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

Missing "Artemis Flights" section

I'm very confused. Between two edits, the entire "artemis flights" section which contains a lot of information, including about Artemis VII-XII, has disappeared. I can't see this in the edit history, however.

These are two versions dated 28th March by RickyCourtney. As I went to undo the change, I couldn't find where the Artemis Flights section had been deleted.

Attempting to engage in any meaningful discussion about missions beyond Artemis V is futile at this time. These missions lack funding and are not included in the revised mission plan outlined by the administrator. RickyCourtney (talk) 21:51, 7 April 2026 (UTC)

As entries, they were no more than three-sentence notional plans based on NASA's FY25 budget request. Moreover, that source only covered missions through Artemis VII, yet it was used to support details through Artemis X, making those entries unsourced original research.
