Facebook as a source

[edit]

While in most cases Facebook should not be treated as a well utilised source, these statements are made by the individual themselves, on a public platform and I argue the source should be allowed to stand. @Tcncv ~2026-48647-63 (talk) 04:24, 9 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I agree. This is important public interest information. It is noteworthy that this is a significant matter in local Adelaide City council politics, and to the wider state of South Australia.
Furthermore, the statements made on Facebook are publicly available primary sources. ~2026-48846-11 (talk) 04:26, 9 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I do not believe a statement by Michael Atkinson regarding Anne Moran is a statement "made by the individual themselves". -- Tom N talk/contrib 04:53, 9 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
She did not deny it!! ~2026-48846-11 (talk) 06:09, 9 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have followed this topic closely and can see both points of view on this discussion.
It is my opinion the error has been in the fact the link was made to the whole post - rather than the specific comment where Ms Moran highlights her husband’s membership.
I have since found a way to link to the specific comment to highlight it as the primary source of evidence and will be making the change to the article for all involved to see shortly. NextGenAuditor (talk) 02:31, 14 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
