Issue with sources?

[edit]

@NajdRecords: Hi, I have tried to check the Doughty 1888 work for support of the text, and failed. I have added a link to searchable full text at the bottom. Would you be so kind as to point me to the quaotes on pp. 429-431 that support the material in the article? Викидим (talk) 22:56, 29 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for checking, and I see what happened. The link added to Further reading points to Volume I (archive.org item travelsinarabiad01doug). All the cited material is in Volume II, which is a separate scan: https://archive.org/details/travelsinarabiad02douguoft
For pp. 429–431 specifically, this is Chapter XV, "Wars of Aneyza. Kahtan Expelled from el-Kasim." Page 429 carries the running header "Aneyza Delivered from the Wahaby" and describes Yahya leading the expulsion of the Wahhabi governor, including the statement "The Emir of the town was then Abdullah ibn Yahya ibn Seleym" regarding the 1269–70 AH war. Pages 430–431 cover the second war and the Khereysy under Yahya. The direct quotes in the article ("a busy patriot and sheykh of the bold Khereysy", "without Abdullah el-Yahya, Zamil did nothing at Aneyza") are on p. 383 of the same volume, as cited. Searching "Yahya" within the Volume II scan will locate all of these passages.
I will correct the Further reading link to point to Volume II and add the volume link to each citation to prevent this confusion. NajdRecords (talk) 02:09, 2 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
