[edit]Is Shane / Alvin's religious faith worthy of a mention here? I believe he appeared on a number of gospel shows on TV during the 1980s. Meltingpot (talk) 07:01, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
Discography
[edit]Didn't Shane Fenton & The Fentones release Hey Miss Ruby and Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue?--212.139.213.178 (talk) 09:50, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- They certainly recorded those songs as per Allmusic here - . According to 45-rpm.org.uk, "Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue" was the b-side of "I'm A Moody Guy", whilst "Hey Miss Ruby" was a non-charting A-side issued in 1963; see here - . OK ?
- I'm thinking the whole discography is far from complete, maybe it should say "Selected"....Faren Short
Son
[edit]Is his son's real name actually "Shaun Fenton"? The school he supposedly works for lists the headmaster's name as that, but considering it wasn't Alvin's real name at any point, how would his son get that as his full name? 85.157.76.57 (talk) 21:37, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
- Quite possibly he changed his name by Deed Poll, and thus his children would take his new surname.124.122.189.116 (talk) 08:02, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
- Perhaps father Alvin found that the surname Jewry triggered all kinds of weird questions... ;) 83.251.170.27 (talk) 20:41, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
A reverted edit
[edit]For the record- at the point at which I changed the spelling of 'Theakston' to 'Theakstone', the article for Johnny Theakston a.k.a. Shane Fenton consistently throughout spelled the name with the 'e' on the end. It was a well-intentioned constructive edit (with the summary 'his article has 'TheakstonE'). Derek R. Bullamore, whose reversion of my NOT VANDALISM edit is the curt 'No it does not; nor should it', was able to provide the aforementioned brusque summary by virtue of himself having corrected Theakston's article at 12:52 on 1 June, before coming back here and making the reversion at 14:28 the same day. In the interests of transparency and accountability, and also frankly indignance at the insinuation that my edit was some kind of strange fabrication- this kind of ill-mannered work happens far too often with this project. Time to start calling it out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.47.181.182 (talk) 15:18, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Probably also worth calling out IPs who hide behind their address and make spurious edits without providing any reliable source. Before you start making further accusations, you might like to provide some evidence of this 'e' on the surname - I will then provide some that prove otherwise. Oh, and you might like to sign your posts [4 x tildes (~)] too. - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 15:27, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
