[edit]"Alternate" means to switch between two states, repetitively - eg AC = Alternating Current. "Alternative" is an option, generally one of two.
Many people seem to confuse these words. They are different.
The current redirection in Wiki, from Alternate to Alternative leads to further confusion and should be corrected.
I am not in general sure of how to link words to definitions, but in this case what is needed is disambiguation and a link to Phyllotaxis. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.171.106.213 (talk) 00:25, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- If you are thinking about words and definitions, you are in the wrong project. Wikipedia is not a dictionary. The dictionary is over there. Uncle G (talk) 23:31, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
