[edit]With all due respect, my name is Alper (I'm Turkish, too)) and i realized that a mistake has been done in the meaning of the compound word. The correct meaning is as follows:
Alp=brave or hero er=soldier (rank of private in today's modern Turkish) In certain contexts "er" also mean "male" person.

Last name
[edit]I see the last name addition has been removed previously, but it's weird that there would be a bunch of people with the last name "Alper" on this page which have nothing to do with the first name. In the end it's both Alper. Illustir (talk) 11:43, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
