Cooper legally changed his name in the 1970s. Why is the article leading with his birth name and referring to his legal name as a stage name only? This isn't consistent with other notable people on Wikipedia who have had legal name changes. 2604:3D08:6E7D:600:5D6E:CACC:4C60:F1C7 (talk) 05:59, 30 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Recent edits as to How Many Decades Alice has been in show-biz...

OK, folks let's discuss. At first I was no *way* he's been in entertainment for seven decades but...actually...yes he has. This is not in the meaning that he's been doing concerts & making records for 70 years, but that he's been an entertainer during 7 decades. So let's parse the decades...he started in 1964 with "The Earwigs"/"Spiders" etc. So 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s...that makes 7 decades. But like I said...let's discuss. Convince me I'm wrong. - Shearonink (talk) 00:08, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Alice Cooper is 78 years old, but if he has been active as a musician since 1964, it would mean he started his career in the music business six decades ago. UndergroundMan3000 (talk) 03:16, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Look at the most recent version of the opening sentence:
is an American singer and songwriter. With a career spanning seven decades,
The above text doesn't seem incorrect to me. His career does span the time period of seven decades - started in the 1960s and he is still touring/recording in the 2020s. "Spanning a decade" doesn't always specifically and only mean a time period of ten years, it can also mean during the period of a named decade. See Collins Dictionary]. - Shearonink (talk) 19:30, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
This wording argument has popped up again...sort of. The last edit summary was "he has worked over seven decades, not six. 60s, 70s, 80, 90, 00s, 10s, 20, that's seven different decades.".
The previous wording was:
With a career spanning over six decades
and it was changed to:
With a career spanning over seven decades.
My thoughts on this is that the sentence should read:
With a career spanning seven decades.
Because Cooper's career has lasted through seven decades but not more than seven decades. But let's discuss, reach consensus. - Shearonink (talk) 04:07, 6 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Possible shared-stage mention: Patrick Lamb (saxophone) (COI disclosed)

[edit]

Hi. I'm Patrick Lamb, a smooth jazz saxophonist (COI disclosed, userspace draft).

I have shared stages with Alice Cooper in cross-genre concert lineups. Documented at All About Jazz and Silverstein Works.

Not asking for an edit; leaving the pointer in case editors here build out a personnel/sideman section. Updatepatrickfacts (talk) 18:28, 2 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
