Someone may wish to create an article about Shirakawa #4 (Chiayi). Listed within List of Japanese-run internment camps during World War II but not created. Some materials available.

In Shirakawa camp, Major I. C. Pedley formed a Rover Crew of Australian, English and Dutch prisoners, setting an example of fortitude and service to others.^[1]

The actions of (I)saac Cross PEDLEY (1904–1975), Royal Artillery (regimental number 39291; reaching lieutenant colonel), is covered in Bamboo thumbsticks.^[2] A similar passing reference was made in the The left handshake.^[3]–Q8682 (talk) 13:48, 28 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

More research can be sourced on this Wiki topic using the Australian online library database Trove, where newspaper articles bear the existing tag of The Rev. Alexander Rowan MACNEIL (1894-1953) (or adding that tag to relevant Trove articles). May include articles related to the family of MACNEIL.

If the Trove articles are about scouting, can use Scouting, Scouts (Victoria), Scouts (Melbourne), Scouts (Singapore), Rover scouts (plural even if just about one rover), jamboree (do not need to split between Frankston, New Endeavour, Greystanes; as use date range to narrow it), etc. If referring to a specific scout group within Melbourne (adding to the 'Scouts (Melbourne)' tag), add Suburb Scout Group (for example, Hawthorn Scout Group, regardless of if just a troop or wolf cub pack or crew (2026: 'unit'), or 1st Hawthorn, 2nd Hawthorn). If the article relates to scouting, but not specifically mentioning or relating to Victorian scouting, then just use the 'Scouting' tag. (These just provide consistency with existing scouting tags within Trove.)

There are some discrepancies in records.

In WWI, he was a captain on 23 July 1916, awarded the MC for an event after that date but the newspapers in Oct 1916 indicate the lower rank of lieutenant.^[1]
He was appointed as Chaplain (4th class) on 03 Apr 1940, but he is said to have enlisted after that date on 6 December 1940.^[2]
