This article could be improved by the adding the following: Why are adakites named adakite. (I presume because their specimens were found near Adak, AK) Who coined the name? When? (this is somewhat recent?) Where were they found? (This is somewhat answered in the examples, but it is only implied) Are they named something else in other literature? Who are Drummond, etc? Do they have a biography entry? Reading through the Defant and Drummond 1990 Nature paper, it's clear that they came up with the name and, as you suggest, named this rock type after Adak Island, where some igneous rocks of unusual chemistry had been described. It makes sense to me that we should include something on this in the article. We don't have articles for either of the authors as either A. No-one has got around to writing such articles or B. They're simply not notable enough to meet WP:PROF. Mikenorton (talk) 20:10, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
