I discovered this well restored meeting-hall building and parking area, midway in the old community along Old Murkirk Road, Beltsville, MD. This Wikipedia article is all well and good about the multi-use building -- but what blew me away were the half-dozen story-boards outside. There was a large Iron-Kiln nearby, producing Cast-Iron for tools and cannon-balls -- run with dozens of slave laborers. -- Huh? Growing up 50-yrs ago 15-miles south (suburban DC) I was NEVER taught anything about that. I'm just now learning of our local Plantation (slave based) history. I'll search some more, but I think that this or some other Wikipedia article needs to be expanded, filling in this essential local Prince Georges County Maryland history, before it is lost.
