Product Placement

[edit]

The picture of the j-link is not relevant to the topic, and appears to be blatant product promotion.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.164.223.208 (talk) 19:26, 4 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Segger website says J-Link debuggers support Cortex-R cores • SbmeirowTalk00:47, 5 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
It does nothing to explain the Cortex-R architecture nor does it add any value to the article. This is akin to posting a picture of a brand name laundry detergent in an article about washing machines. Thaddeusw (talk) 18:21, 23 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Instruction Set

[edit]

The Cortex-M has a nice table which is a very good starting point to figure out what each of the cores can do (thanks User:Sbmeirow!). If you find the time to add such a table for Cortex-R, this could really improve this wiki entry, too. Arcnet (talk) 15:36, 18 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Major Rewrite

[edit]

I came here looking for a quick explanation of the Cortex-R and found nothing of value. There is zero explanation of the architecture and why it is suitable for real time. So I took the liberty of doing a bit of Cortex-R research and I pretty much trashed the entire article. I also removed the notability template as this edit removes the need for it. The rewrite isn't spectacular but it communicates the basic architectural differences and application examples. Feel free to add to or comment on the changes.
