Discontinuation date

“Native 8-core”

In the opening paragraph, this article mentions “AMD FX was a series of high-end AMD microprocessors for personal computers which debuted in 2011, claimed as AMD's first native 8-core desktop processor,” but the actual claim AMD makes is more expansive. In the “menu” box under the heading“Innovative Architecture”, they state the AMD-FX series has “\[t\]he industry's first and only native 8-core desktop processor” (the sales copy doesn't specify which model). My apologies. I expected a preview when I hit “publish.” Anyway, this claim seems looks to me to be more specific than it sounds. Clearly it wasn't updated after 2011 to account for new x86-64 processors. There seem to have been some intel Xeon (server) processors with 8 physical cores. More than that though, it relies on the meaning of “native” (I am assuming physical rather than hyperthreaded, but I couldn't find where/if AMD defined the term). It also seems like the claim is something relevant to mention in §Controversy, but not having read up on it and having spent more time than I intended trying to figure out some of this, I must move on. FX-8150 Incorrect Price

Under the history section, the launch price of the FX-8150 is billed as $185 with two citations. Both citations still work but they both say it was $245, not $185. The only reference to the 185 number is from citation 11, but is referencing a later price cut to the 8120, not the 8150. 142.114.243.19 (talk) 02:43, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
